Preventing absenteeism
Within this large organization, Karlijn focuses on absenteeism cases, reducing absenteeism, and prevention. “I advise the organization but also have my ‘feet in the clay’ through my role as HR business partner, in which I advise team leaders and employees, for example about absenteeism situations. Whatever role I am in, it is always about being in contact, listening to others with genuine interest, and doing the right thing, so that employees can work with pleasure and in a healthy environment.”
Choosing De Verzuimmakelaar
In 2018, De Verzuimmakelaar won Driestroom’s tender. At the time, Karlijn was involved in the presentations of various occupational health services. De Verzuimmakelaar stood out because they are a relatively small player. This has the advantage that they can switch quickly and provide customized solutions. “Since 2019, I have been working in these roles and have taken on new responsibilities in the area of absenteeism and prevention. At De Verzuimmakelaar, I have close contact with Myrtille van Hout.”

If you are a client of De Verzuimmakelaar, you determine how much support you need. “Myrtille advises us on reducing absenteeism, we involve her in complex cases, and she reviews the absenteeism figures. She supports me and I advise the organization. She is a good sparring partner.”
Customization is important to us
Karlijn really appreciates that De Verzuimmakelaar meets their needs. “We are an organization that does a lot ourselves. De Verzuimmakelaar carefully considers what is needed and sometimes takes a step back if they see that the client can handle it themselves. They don’t let us go completely but trust that we can manage certain things ourselves. I find that flexibility and customization very important; it’s what sets De Verzuimmakelaar apart in the market. And that’s why we enjoy working with them.”
A lot of expertise in-house
Not every organization can handle a lot themselves. “It suits us that they keep their distance, but even if you want to outsource everything related to absenteeism, De Verzuimmakelaar is a suitable partner. They have a good system and a lot of expertise in-house. I would confidently leave it to them.”
