Recently, De Verzuimmakelaar made a donation to Stichting WensAmbulance Brabant. WensAmbulance Brabant offers people in a terminal stage of life professional and comfortable transport while lying down, so that certain wishes can still be fulfilled. This foundation is entirely dependent on gifts, donations, legacies, and sponsorship.
Relatively small wishes
People in the final stage of life often have relatively small wishes that are difficult to fulfill due to their physical limitations. WensAmbulance Brabant may be able to provide a solution. The ambulance is staffed by professional volunteers—a driver and an attendant—and is equipped with comfortable stretchers. The person requesting the wish can use the transport free of charge.
One more time…
To see the parental home one more time, to visit that club again, to spend another day at the seaside with family. These seem like wishes that are very simple to fulfill, but for people who do not have long to live, this is not always so obvious. For example, because they are bedridden and sitting transport is no longer possible. Too many people still pass away without being able to properly say goodbye. WensAmbulance Brabant is there for those who need transport while lying down to fulfill their last wish.
750 wish journeys per year
The foundation’s five ambulances are stationed in Bergen op Zoom, Breda, Boxtel, Helmond, and Valkenswaard. With more than 160 volunteers, they realize over 750 wish journeys per year. Stichting WensAmbulance Brabant is ANBI registered. As a Recognized Charity, they meet strict quality requirements and are supervised by the CBF.
Savings donated
At De Verzuimmakelaar, we are happy to be socially involved. That is why every December we place the wish tree in our office, in front of the window, so that passersby can make a wish. We then fulfill one of those wishes in January. And every month, we save a certain amount per employee (which is not deducted from their salary, by the way). The employees themselves choose which local charity the saved amount will be donated to. This year, they chose Stichting WensAmbulance Brabant.
